TY - Data T1 - Global ocean latent and sensible heat fluxes from the maximum entropy production framework from 1988-2017 A1 - None DO - 10.6084/m9.figshare.26861767.v2 PY - 2024 DA - 2024-11-28 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - This dataset utilizes the Enhanced Maximum Entropy Generation (MEP) framework to re-examine global long-term ocean surface heat flux. The ocean heat reserves and four empirical Bowen's equations were used to improve the estimation of MEP methods. The newly obtained latent heat flux dataset outperforms existing mainstream heat flux products, including J-OFURO3, ERA5, MERRA2, and OAFlux. The dataset files are all in NetCDF (. nc) format, with a monthly temporal resolution, a spatial resolution of 0.25 degrees, and a time span from 1988 to 2017 This dataset provides a new benchmark for ocean surface energy budgeting and is expected to have significant value for research on global ocean warming, surface atmosphere energy exchange, water cycle, and climate change.
