The ocean heat reserves and four empirical Bowen's equations were used to improve the estimation of MEP methods. The newly obtained latent heat flux dataset outperforms existing mainstream heat flux products, including J-OFURO3, ERA5, MERRA2, and OAFlux. The dataset files are all in NetCDF (. nc) format, with a monthly temporal resolution, a spatial resolution of 0.25 degrees, and a time span from 1988 to 2017 This dataset provides a new benchmark for ocean surface energy budgeting and is expected to have significant value for research on global ocean warming, surface atmosphere energy exchange, water cycle, and climate change.
